Teesworks Skills Academy is delighted to be working with our client K2 Construction Management on the recruitment of their Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engineer based on Teesside.

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engineer role centres on managing the day-to-day engineering of a large multi-million-pound civil engineering and building project. The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engineer will utilise their building and civil engineering knowledge to oversee the management of a large number of contractors and sub-contractors. The aim is to ensure the smooth delivery of the works on this prestige project.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintain, check, and control the quality of materials and site works according to the Quality Management System.
  • Implement the quality control plans to complete the construction work safely and to the highest quality possible in the shortest time.
  • Plan and execute the Site inspection and produce the site inspection report to management.
  • Key person of Site Inspection
  • Coordinate with construction team
  • Review the Material Technical Data Sheet
  • Prepare Method Statements
  • Review Consultant’s comments on the method statements and take action
  • Submit Inspection Request for Consultant’s Inspection
  • Issue Internal Non-Conformity Report or Site Observation
  • Conduct regular Site Surveillance
  • Prepare weekly / monthly QA/QC Reports

The ideal experience and skills required for the role:

  • 5+ years site experience
  • Experience in a QA/QC Engineer role
  • Based in the Teesside area (or close to)
  • Civil & building experience
  • Degree or HND qualified
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Competent to work alone
  • Building & civil engineering experience on large projects
  • Main contractor experience
  • Sc. in Civil Engineering or associated engineering science
  • (Senior) over 10 years’ experience as an QA/QC Engineer / (QA/QC Engineer) over 5 years / (Junior) over 3 years
