Brief overview of the role
Bertschi are looking to appoint an Apprentice Transport Planner to join their team in the planning department of their prestigious facility. The successful candidate will be given ongoing coaching and training in all aspects of their transport operations, ultimately becoming responsible for ensuring loads and deliveries are processed correctly.
What will the apprentice be doing?
Some of the duties include:
- Working with the transport IT system
- Liaising with the planning, shipping and customer service teams
- Communicating with external customers
- Assisting with customs formalities in this post-Brexit era
- Assisting in the planning and routing of Bulk liquid and bulk plastics in tanks and bulk boxes throughout the UK
- Responding to emails in a timely manner
- Dealing with customers / drivers / shipping lines
- Liaise with the Swiss HQ
- Complete paperwork, and general admin duties
- Work as part of a team and on an individual basis
- Ensure compliance and safety standards are met and upheld in all day-to-day operations
All duties in relation to the routing of HGV vehicles, HGV drivers’ hours/tachograph regulations and compliance will be included in the training programme.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Business Administration at Stockton Riverside College
- Functional skills Maths and English, if required

Working week
40 hours, Monday to Friday, with hours to be confirmed.
