Job Description

Brief overview of the role

Vision Academy Learning Trust, central Trust headquarters at Whinstone Primary School in Ingleby Barwick are looking for a finance apprentice to join their team. This role incorporates study and completion of the level 3 Assistant Accountant whilst working in the finance department.

Vacancy description

Key Duties:

  • To provide a range of clerical duties including photocopying, sending emails, filing, message-taking, sorting and distributing post, etc.
  • To respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from staff, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • To deal with all customer contact effectively, and courteously, in line with Trust policies and procedures
  • To maintain manual and computerised systems including inputting data, keeping records, statistics, confidential and general filing systems as directed
  • To provide support to the Finance Manager with the accounts payable function. This will include resolving queries on purchase invoices by liaising with suppliers and staff members. To take phone calls from suppliers and record their queries
  • To provide support to the Manager with the input of banking transactions
  • To record Purchase Orders on accounting system and place orders with supplier email
  • To scan records onto the finance system for electronic archiving
  • To carry out other appropriate tasks as may be required by the Finance Department.
  • To study towards and complete the AAT accounting qualification

Working week

  • 37 hours, Monday to Friday, hours to be confirmed
