Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Assistant Healthcare Science Practitioner with Administrative Duties to work as part of our friendly team providing a diagnostic Cardiology and Respiratory service to both in-patients and out-patients. The post will also involve administrative and reception duties, including dealing with patient and staff queries, managing clinics on the Trust IT systems and making and amending appointments. The Principal hospitals within County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are Darlington Memorial Hospital, University Hospital of North Durham, Bishop Auckland Hospital and Shotley Bridge Hospital. The Cardiology and Respiratory Investigation Units comprise a Team of approximately 40 staff who provide a broad range of invasive and non invasive procedures. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone who would enjoy a post combining both clinical and administrative work.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a busy Cardio-Respiratory Department.
As a department, we pride ourselves on the quality of diagnostic services we provide for patients. You should have a good understanding of, or have experience of working in a medical environment and have the ability to remain calm, especially in stressful situations. Ideally, you should be technically competent to perform 12 lead ECG’s, as well as a number of other basic diagnostic procedures but this is not essential. Experience of reception and admin work would also be useful. You should enjoy training other healthcare staff.
