Job Description

The Grenfell Club is a social and leisure club for children, young people and adults with learning and physical disabilities. Grenfell Club is looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their team and gain a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To act as a point of contact for the organisation in handling external enquiries and in the provision of robust and high-quality information
  • To provide high quality clerical support for all aspects of the work of the club
  • To support the Finance Officer in recording and retrieving the financial details of the company
  • To deliver the aims, objectives and development of the organisation
  • To provide direct financial and clerical support to The Grenfell Club services
  • To support the planning and design of appropriate office systems and procedures
  • To Co-Ordinate systems which effectively monitor and report outcomes for all service areas
  • To help prepare and produce monitoring information required to fully comply with services provided under contracts/grants
  • To help prepare and update policies and procedures
  • To undertake general administrative and clerical tasks
  • Managing and updating our social media sites and our website
  • To be responsible, in conjunction with the Finance Officer, for financial transactions
  • Under directive of the finance officer – To handle, process and reconcile all financial transactions using QuickBooks software, and keep accurate and robust records from the point of receipt to completion of transaction
  • To support the Manager in the effective management of the Grenfell resources, including stock control and monitoring
  • Working with payrolls to ensure that monthly timesheets are completed and checked for accuracy (annual leave, absence)
  • To undertake a range of reception duties
  • To work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Undertake training as required by The Grenfell or as agreed through supervision

  • In line with Grenfell safeguarding policy to undertake DBS checks on new trustees’ staff/volunteers and 3 yearly checks
  • Undertake the running of our coffee bar to include orders and stocktakes
  • When required to take minutes of meetings

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator standard:

  • 1 day at college

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potentially a position within the company for the right person on completion of the qualification.
