Job Description

1 x 37.5 hours permanent

2 x 37.5 hours fixed term 12 months

The post will support the MacMillan Cancer Pathway Co-ordinators in the tracking of patients through the cancer pathway.

This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met. They will have the flexibility to respond to requests from specialties, and will be able to work under their own initiative.

Main duties of the job

To be successful in this role, the candidates require a good understanding of the cancer pathways and the national targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work under pressure whilst adhering to deadlines and have the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team based environment.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE’s A-C or equivalent qualification or experience
  • NVQ level 3 business admin or equivalent

Desirable

  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent or working towards OR Advanced European Computer Driving License (ECDL)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS
  • Previous experience of dealing with customers, patients and/or members of the public.
  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative role.
