Summary

The ONS’s world leading Secure Research Service (SRS) gives accredited researchers secure access to de-identified, unpublished data to work on research projects for the public good.

SRS works in partnership with Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK), and along with the development of the new Integrated Data Service (IDS), brings an exciting opportunity to build on the recent success of the SRS and make significant improvements to the service offered.

Job description

In this role, you will:

  • Support day to day activities required to support the growing and diverse SRS research community.
  • You will support the delivery of the SRS Engagement Team activities, which include internal and external updates and in-person and virtual events, showcasing the benefits of accessing secure research data.
  • You will work collaboratively with the subject matter experts across the directorate to collate information for both internal and external newsletters.
  • You’ll be required to work independently to manage workstream tasks and update plans to support efficient delivery of the teams’ objectives.
  • You will have a track record of providing support and ensuring the delivery of a complex and high pace workstream.
  • This role will require an enthusiastic and hardworking individual, comfortable managing a range of fast-moving priorities, to support engagement with our large research community at pace.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

  • Collating information for a suite of internal and external updates, reporting on a wide range of activities carried out by the SRS Engagement team, meeting with varied business areas regularly to ensure up-to-date information is provided.
  • Managing SRS Engagement workstream plan updates to ensure the wider team are kept up to date on upcoming activities.
  • Updating metrics on SRS Engagement team activities for delivery to management teams as required.
  • Create pulse surveys and feedback channels for internal and external researchers following events.
  • Working with Engagement Manager to support the delivery of a series of virtual ongoing presentations from members of our research community.
  • Support in the successful delivery of SRS Engagement events, co-ordinating speakers, and managing attendance.
  • Managing the SRS Engagement team inbox effectively, ensuring that emails are dealt with appropriately in a timely manner, drafting responses to queries as required, seeking advice and guidance from management as necessary.
  • Continuing to raise awareness and understanding of the ADR UK partnership, including the benefits of linked administrative data.
  • Developing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Essential Criteria:  

• Ability to build strong working relationships across a range of stakeholders across the organisation.
• Ability to prioritise and coordinate workload to deliver high quality work at pace and in a timely manner.
• Ability to develop work processes and procedures in response to the needs of the team’s objectives to deliver improvements to.
• Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
