Job Description

Outline

Are you about to become a newly qualified graduate Instrumentation, Automotive, or Electrical Engineer, looking to develop control and monitoring systems, and to work with SCADA? If so, we’ve got the job for you. We are looking to hire a Graduate SCADA Engineer to join our growing team of Applications Engineers.

This is a full time (38 hours per week), permanent role, based in our Billingham offices, with some working from home and occasional visits to customer’s sites.

Background

Tascomp has been providing software and systems for industrial automation for over 40 years. We make use of our own SCADA package, Prodigy which is under constant development and is used as the basis for our PlantRun and PAMS packages.

Our software is in use in numerous organisations throughout the world, and is used for applications as diverse as:

  • Controlling rigs to test aircraft parts
  • Tracking production through saw mills
  • Alarm management in air traffic control towers
  • Control of pharmaceutical drug production

Job Role and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a small team of application engineers who develop and support our Prodigy, PAMS, and PlantRun systems. The team is based at our Billingham offices and it is expected that the new employee will spend most of their time there. However, from time to time there will be a requirement to visit a customer’s site, for example, to discuss customer requirements or to commission a new system.  In most cases this will be in the UK, but from time to time we have a requirement for an engineer to visit an overseas customer, for example, in the USA, Europe, or the Middle East.

Customer support is a key aspect of our business and, therefore, the successful candidate must be able to switch instantly between working on the development of a new system, and addressing an issue on a customer’s live system.

Applicants should send an up-to-date CV and covering letter via email to:
