We are an 11-16 academy based in the large, north-east town of Middlesbrough.

Would you like to work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment?  We are recruiting exceptional individuals who will join our family here at Ormesby.

Outwood Academy Ormesby places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. You will have the desire to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First, raising standards and transforming lives’.

We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of education within a safe, caring and positive ethos. We endeavour to make our student’s learning as exciting and enjoyable as we can. We work to enable our students to become successful learners, to achieve the best they can in order to prepare them for life in the local and worldwide community.

We are seeking to appoint a Science specialist as Head of Science to oversee a hard working team of passionate Science learning practitioners and to transform the life chances of the young people in our care. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and inspiring subject specialist. An excellent knowledge and thorough understanding of the subject is essential. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students.

Outwood Academy Ormesby is an improving school at the heart of the community. The department consists of six teachers and a specialist Science technician. The department benefits from four science labs and two specialist classrooms, and a science 121 tutor.

If you genuinely love working with children, will go above and beyond for our young people and want to work as part of an inspirational and dynamic team then we would love to hear from you.
