As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce. You’ll be part of our dynamic Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, collaborating closely with colleagues across various disciplines. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking project while gaining valuable experience and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust health and safety policies, procedures, and practices specific to heavy industry and renewable energy.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions.
  • Promote a safety culture by organising training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor and evaluate safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety and the environment.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate: Candidates must have successfully completed this recognised qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and environmental principles, risk management, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working in heavy industry, construction, or renewable energy sectors is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Passion for safety excellence and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience of ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001
