Join our client’s team as an Instrument Technician in Middlesbrough, maintaining critical plant instrumentation and ensuring operational reliability This is a temporary, full-time role requiring flexibility, including out-of-hours response and occasional weekend work.
You will be maintaining and repairing instrumentation at two local Hydrogen plants, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and company standards. You will also be responsible for completing instrumentation maintenance activities, managing SAP systems, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2000.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, technically competent, and able to work independently. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments are essential. The role demands a proactive approach to safety and quality, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk management.
Key responsibilities:
- Completing routine and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation
- Managing the SAP system for planned maintenance and repairs
- Isolating, testing, and restarting plant instrumentation
- Resolving plant defects and enhancing reliability
- Preparing and costing small site projects
- Responding to out-of-hours breakdowns
- Calibrating safety instrumented systems
- Preparing method statements and risk assessments
- Supporting audits and managing engineering changes
Required qualifications/training:
- Recognised apprenticeship with full craftsmen training
- Valid driving license
- HNC or equivalent in an instrumentation discipline
- COMPEX EX01-EX04 certification
