Job Description
The School of Health and Life Sciences is now seeking to appoint to the post of Lecturer Teaching Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) in Urgent and Emergency Care (Paramedic) to contribute to teaching, research, knowledge exchange and enterprise in the Department of Allied Health Professions in the School of Health & Life Sciences.
The standard TSPP academic role at the University includes a combination of teaching, scholarly activity, professional practice, knowledge exchange, business engagement and associated administrative activities. While all functions will combine these areas of work, the relative weight of each will vary between and over time for each role holder.
The postholder must be a Practising Paramedic on the HCPC professional register and have experience of teaching and assessing skills in practice. You must hold both a first degree and Masters in relevant discipline / equivalent professional qualification or significant practical work experience in a related discipline. You will have experience of working across urgent and emergency care services including the ambulance service. You will utilise your knowledge to contribute to teaching, knowledge exchange, enterprise, and business engagement within the Paramedic team and across the wider AHP department. Applicants must hold or willing to achieve a relevant Teaching Qualification normally within two years of employment i.e PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (Associate Fellow/Senior Fellow) accreditation alongside a Membership of a relevant professional body / Registered professional in the discipline / equivalent level of professional practice.
Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post may qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
