As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
We are recruiting for a M&E Lifting Coordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.
What you’ll be doing
As a M&E Lifting Coordinator you will have the following responsibilities;
- Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW).
Actively encourages and leads the BBK and contractor teams to implement and comply with Project HSW requirements. - Ensures all relevant HSW requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management and HSW team, HSW hazards are
eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable. - Ensures that lift plans, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regard to HSW requirements and satisfy site safe systems of work.
- Determines scope and prepares work packs detailing extent of lifting operations.
- Acts as the principal contractor in the coordination of all lifting activities onsite,
leading by example. - Monitor workflow, crane scheduling, and service delivery to meet deadlines.
- Track project activities and maintain detailed daily logs, reports, and time sheets.
- Participate in client meetings, pre-lift briefings, and site management activities to
determine project requirements. - Act as a key point of contact for client, ensuring project objectives are met
professionally and cost-effectively. - Experience of planning and controlling lifting operations for a wide variety of loaders and cranes
- Ensure project documentation and files are maintained in line with company
procedures.
Who we’re looking for
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experience of Major UK construction projects and compliance with CDM
requirements. - HSE Champion.
- Proven experience in a Crane Coordinator role on large engineering projects.
- Extensive experience at supervisor level [in either a client or contractor role]
- Direct experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficient on O365
- Holds a current driving licence
The role holder is likely to have one or more of the following:
- CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent
- CCNSG / HS&E MAPS (Health and Safety & Environmental Test) for Managers
The role holder must have as a minimum the following:
- CPCS A 61 – Crane Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)
- CPCS A 62 – Crane Supervisor
