Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to drive engineering excellence within the UK operations. This role requires an expert in mechanical systems to support project design, compliance, and maintenance across complex industrial systems.

Role Overview:

This Mechanical Engineer position focuses on ensuring safe and compliant mechanical operations. The role involves leading feasibility, FEED, and detailed design projects, optimising systems and equipment, and managing compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary mechanical discipline lead on projects, including tank builds, pipeline modifications, and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with Pressure Equipment and Pressure System Safety Regulations
  • Develop and manage pipe specifications, fabrication, NDT procedures, and bolted joint integrity standards
  • Design and review piping systems, including General Arrangements, Isometrics, and piping stress models
  • Oversee vendor management, technical evaluations, and quality assurance for project handovers and commissioning
  • Lead and contribute to risk management studies such as HAZOP and FMEA
  • Develop cost estimates and proposals for mechanical CAPEX projects

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in piping system design per ASME B31.3 and familiarity with piping stress models
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations, including DSEAR (ATEX), PER (PED), and standards such as API, EN, and ASME
