We are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician for our client based in Teesside, for a full-time permanent position. The role ensures maintenance operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

The perfect candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience in chemical or storage plant environments, and be safety-conscious, ensuring compliance with all site procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Performing scheduled and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Handling repairs on rotating equipment
- Conducting tank inspections, including valves and vents
- Managing flanged connections per company procedures
- Carrying out fire pump testing, slinging, rigging, and lifting
- Supporting mechanical fault finding and operational uptime
- Assisting third-party contractors on site
- Checking and updating drawings/documentation and reporting
Key requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or time-served Technician
- Significant previous experience in chemical manufacturing or storage plant
- Knowledge of P&IDs
- Proficiency in risk assessments, confined spaces, working at heights
