Post: Police Staff Investigator PIP Level 2 Accredited (or recognised equivalent)

Salary: SO 1 / 2 – £33,915 – £39,036

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Hartlepool HQ

 

Working as a Police Staff Investigator within the Directorate of Standards and Ethics you will support and assist with a number of investigations directed by line management, working as part of a team interviewing individuals subject to investigation, providing support and acting as officer in the case with on-going and new cases.
We are seeking conscientious, dedicated and inquiring individuals to ensure a professional investigative and supportive service is delivered.
Duties will include interviewing witnesses in line with achieving best evidence, and  producing accurate written statements in a form suitable for use as evidence in any future court cases or hearings.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving, communication and decision making skills. PIP Level 2 accreditation or the recognised equivalent is essential to the role.
Flexibility will be essential due to the nature and demands of this role. You should expect on occasion to work beyond your normal scheduled working hours and also to travel around the force areas and beyond.

The role of Police Staff Investigator requires that you have your fingerprints and DNA taken and these will be stored on the contamination elimination database.  This requirement is written in to your contract.

 

Personal Safety Training is a mandatory requirement for the role so successful applicants will be required to complete this upon appointment.
