To ensure future sustainability and a pipeline of aspiring leaders we are offering a number of professorial roles for outstanding researchers aligned to our areas of excellence. The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law is seeking a Professor to provide leadership in the area of Civic and Public Engagement or Place Based Policy Making and seeks applications from anyone with an exemplary track record in either or both of these areas.

The University’s campus masterplan has invested in a £22m National Horizon Centre and £16.5m Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, £36m in a new BIOS building (due to open in September 2023) housing its science laboratories and Integrated Healthcare Academy and a Digital Life centre (due to open in September 2024) to support the innovation and skills needs of the region. The University has a close relationship with the Tees Valley Combined Authority and is a key player in the regeneration of the region through its support for decarbonisation, biosciences, social policy, health, and digital.
