The North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub is part of a national network of Local Net Zero Hubs set up to help local areas and the communities they serve to develop and deliver the energy projects they need to meet local growth ambitions and national clean energy targets.

We are looking to add a Programme Officer to our team who will support the coordinated management and administration of the Hub’s complex and multi-faceted delivery. In particular, they will play a key role in ensuring the Hub’s governance and reporting is the best it can be, providing full accountability to stakeholders including partners and funders.

The role will support across multiple areas of delivery but will focus especially on the robust management of finance and risk across the programme. There will be a need to liaise with internal teams within TVCA and the Net Zero Hub to ensure budget forecasts are up to date, financial reporting is completed efficiently and accurately and that decision makers have the information they require to make informed decisions.

The role is offered as fixed term to 31st March 2027 with the potential to extend subject to performance and available funding. The role is also offered as a secondment opportunity.

The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator, work well across a dispersed team and be comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders, including internal finance and legal teams, the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, Great British Energy, Mayoral Combined Authorities, Local Authorities and community organisations.

You will have experience of providing administrative support to externally funded projects and programmes (ideally within a public sector context), and of compiling financial information from across multiple delivery strands to provide accurate, up to date budget forecasts, and easy to understand financial reports. Ideally you will have a recognised qualification in accounting, financial management or other related discipline.

The role will require an understanding of risk management – including the difference between risks, challenges and barriers – as well as an advanced level of numeracy in addition to good written and verbal communication skills.
