Teesworks Skills Academy is delighted to be working with our client K2 Construction Management on the recruitment of their Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager based on Teesside.

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager be responsible for managing the day-to-day engineering of a large multi-million-pound civil engineering and building project. The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager will utilise their building and civil engineering knowledge to oversee the management of a large number of contractors and sub-contractors. The aim is to ensure the smooth delivery of the works on this prestige project.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute the quality of materials and site works according to the Quality Management System
  • Evaluate and review the proper method statement from each trade contactor according to Site quality control plans
  • Control and manage the Site Inspection plan
  • Coordinate with construction team
  • Establish a quality assurance plan for the project, based on company policy, considering project contractual conditions and specifications
  • Take all QA matters for the project management towards the client and consultants
  • Ensure the management and distribution of QA related documents on site
  • Participate in the establishment of execution methods and research measures to improve the quality
  • Audit QA/QC plans of the sub-contractors, harmonize team as an integrated part of company quality plan
  • Be responsible for having all quality controls carried out on site, resulting in positive certificates
  • In case of unsatisfactory results, formulate a non-conformity report
  • Ensure the recording and filing of traceability of documents and non-conformity report and research remedies to these non-conformity items

The ideal experience and skills required for the role:

  • 5+ years site experience
  • Experience in a QA/QC Manager role
  • Based in the Teesside area (or close to)
  • Civil & building experience
  • Degree or HND qualified
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Competent to work alone
  • Building & civil engineering experience on large projects
  • Main contractor experience
  • Sc. in Civil Engineering or associated engineering science
  • Over10 years’ experience in QA/QC of building/construction sector and over 3 years’ experience in QA/QC manager position
