We are looking for self-motivated individuals, with experience of advisory work on a one-to-one basis, to provide support to our students experiencing a range of complex support needs.
Responsibilities will include responding to student support enquiries, recommending reasonable adjustments for disabled students, responding to and managing crisis situations related to mental health and welfare, making decisions in high-risk or complex cases, providing student support appointments related to mental health and disability, organising appropriate support for students, liaising with organisations such as the NHS and Cleveland Police, contributing to service development and monitoring the effectiveness of the service.
Applicants will be educated to degree level or will hold a comparable amount of learning and experience and will be registered with a relevant professional body and will have experience of multi-agency working and of managing a caseload. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount, as are strong planning and organisational skills plus the ability to work both independently and also as part of a team.
The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
Important Note for Student Visa holders: As you are restricted to working 20 hours per week during term time under the terms of your visa you are not eligible to apply for this position as the weekly hours are 21 hours & 22.2 hours.
