Job Description

Location: St Alphonsus Catholic Primary School, Cadogan Street, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, TS3 6PX

Required: January or as soon as possible

Hours: 26 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 1 week         

Salary: Grade E, SCP 6-7 (actual salary £12,115 – £12,357)

St Alphonsus Catholic Primary School is part of Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust, a family of 32 primary schools, and 5 secondary schools. With 14,000 pupils and 2,000 plus staff, the Trust is now one of the largest Catholic Multi Academy Trust in the UK.

The successful candidates will:

  • Be able to communicate sensitively with parents/carers
  • Have excellent standards of literacy, numeracy and spoken English
  • Support pupils’ learning needs; leading small group sessions and interventions as appropriate
  • Be able to assist in the assessment and tracking of EAL pupils
  • Assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies to support EAL pupil’s learning needs and progress
  • Work alongside pupils, families and staff to support the integration of EAL families new to the area
  • Have a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life.
