Position Overview: The post holder for the position of Training Coordinator will undertake a range of tasks to support the smooth running of the Apprentice training both in and out of the workshop. The position will offer a range of career progression and training opportunities that will be tailored to the individual. Training opportunities may include (but not be limited to) an Apprenticeship and/or recognised Health & Safety qualifications. This position would be an ideal first job for someone who has just finished College or University. It may also suit those looking for a career change or looking to secure a job within an education and training setting. 

 

Applicants should have an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and flexible approach to work. Full training for the role will be provided on the job. 

 

Person Specification: 

  • Able to take instructions and open to learning new skills, knowledge and behaviour. 
  • Works well as part of a team and independently. 
  • Organised, flexible, and the ability to prioritises tasks and manage workloads efficiently. 
  • Knowledge or experience of Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel. 
  • Good time management skills 
  • An interest and understanding of the importance of Health & Safety within the workplace. 

 

 

Duties: 

  • Work alongside workshop staff and Apprentices to keep workshop spaces, classrooms and storage areas clean, tidy and safe. 
  • Support staff with setting up/clearing up the workshop areas for practical sessions/demonstrations/assessments. 
  • Carry out stock takes of materials and equipment and share information with staff on any materials that may need reordering. 
  • Support workshop staff with maintenance of machinery and equipment. 
  • Unload and store deliveries of materials. 
  • Monitor and replenish breakfast stock levels 
  • Set up and invigilate online examinations. 
  • Keep student computers updated 
  • Record student registers on OneFile portfolio system 
  • Maintain student entry sign system 
  • Carry out fire marshal/fire officer duties 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

 

There is no mandatory previous experience required for this role. We are looking to offer someone their first steps on to a career path. We are happy to accept CVs from candidates without the below experience/qualifications as long as they fit the person specification. 

 

All experience/qualification listed below are preferrable but not essential  

  • 3 GCSEs at 4-9 (A* – C) ideally including maths and English  
  • Some experience of a workshop environment  
  • Full driving licence or provisional license and learning to drive.
