As Recruitment Partner to Johnson Procurement Solutions Limited (JSP), we are hiring a Junior Quantity Surveyor to operate and drive throughout the UK, whilst being based at their Newton Aycliffe site.
This prominent procurement specialist offers integrated solutions and services on an interim and outsourced basis with expertise across various industries, representing clients in their strategic supply chain and procurement activities.
You will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, construction management or a related field with post-graduate experience within the civil, construction or oil and gas sectors. Consideration will be given to candidates with a BTEC qualification in Construction Management coupled with relevant industry experience. Your strong analytical and mathematical skills will enable you to prepare monthly application and valuation reports, manage payments and efficiently submit invoices for projects.
Your understanding of the procurement process and strong grasp of evaluation will include experience drafting ITT/RFQs for subcontract packages and familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 JCT forms of contact.
You will be experienced and confident managing negotiations with main contractors and attending client meetings, building strong relationships both internally and externally with your excellent communications skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting SRM and category management
- Identifying client’s key strategic requirements and developing project specific vendor engagement plans, procurement strategies, category maps and strategic approach
- Managing pre-qualification and all aspects of invitation to tender processes and procurement schedules
